After travelling to Bali in August 2025 the one thing we can say for certain is to book via Booking.com! In every hotel we visited we litterally stood in front of booking staff and asked for the best price (which they assured us would be better than the online price). In every single case they gave us a price nearly 30% higher than we'd found on places like Booking.com and Trivago. So unfortunately we don't have any special offers for our guests but our recommendations below are still valid. Also, because our phones listen to everything we say, we are constantly bombarded with special deals for Bali flights and accommodation. When these turn up and we think they represent value, we will post links to them on the Blog page.
We have selected Heliconia Villas in Seminyak for the Bridal Party. You won't find it in the recommendations below because we have literally booked the place out.

Manuh Guest House
For the super budget conscious the Manuh Guest House could be your go to. This lovely little B&B comes highly recommended. It has no pool or other resort like facilities but it is clean and welcoming and starts at $40 / night. It's also close to the venue and the best bits of Nusa Dua. (no website so use your favourite booking service)

Champlung Mas Hotel
The Champlung Mas is a lovely budget hotel in Legian which comes highly recommended from a Bali frequent flyer and trusted friend. It is located in Legian making it central to all the best bits of Bali and rooms start from $60 / night in the peak season.

Bali Agung Village is a 3 Star resort in Seminyak with both Villa and Standard room accommodation available. It is clean and functional and run by really friendly people. Rooms start at around A$70 / night.

Kubel Dimel Suites and Vilas
This nice little 3 star resort is situated very close to the venue and is nestled between Pura Geger Beach and The Waterblow blowhole. Good friends of ours recommended it and we checked it out as a possible location for the wedding party as well. Rooms start from just over $100 / night but there are also vilas available if you want to splurge a little.

Bruce has stayed here previously and really enjoyed it. Noku Beach House is a mid range Villa style hotel in Seminyak with all the amenities of larger and pricier locations. Prices start around A$150 / night but August is peak season so it could be more expensive. Keep an eye out for deals on the usual webites.

The Grand Bali - Nusa Dua
This place is so much fun...at least it was with a whole mess of sailors having a couple of days break from shipboard life! I can't imagine it's any worse with just normal people :-) Close to the best bits of Nusa Dua and very reasonably priced for a resort of its calibre. Rooms start from $150 / night.

This is where we stayed during our trip in August 2025. It is really lovely and we enjoyed it very much. It was a bit too pricey for us to book for the whole wedding party but that doesn't mean it's not perfect for a couple or a group of 3 splitting the bill for one of their 3 bedroom pool villas.it is about 20km from the Venue and we got there in 35 minutes at about the time of day we expect people to be travelling.
Origin Villas
Origin Villas are a hidden gem on a back alley in Seminyak. We visited them as a possible location for the wedding party but couldn't get them in the configuration we needed. Regardless I would definitely recommed them as a great little spot practically at the back door of Seminyak Village.If you share with someone the two bedroom villas are only $135/night. There are also 1, 3 and 4 bedroom options available.22km from the venue and up to 40 minutes in traffic.

Bali Gardens is a very highly recommended hotle in Kuta. Sharelle swears by it and if I didn't put it in the list she'd kill me! But we did do a walkthrough and it is really lovely looking. It's hard to give an estimate of the price because it seem to change based on which website you use. So all I can say is shop around. Prices seem to average between $100-$170/night depending on what type of room you want. 18km from the venue and up to 40 minutes in traffic.
TRUNTUM - KUTA
Truntum Kuta is a renowned hotel located in the heart of Kuta. With its prime beachfront location, the hotel offers stunning views of the Indian Ocean and easy access to Kuta Beach. Depending on which room type you book this could also go in the Luxury section. We haven't stayed there but it does come highly recommended by some party animal friends. It is a big hotel with rooms ranging from the basic to executive suites and the impressively named GRAND POOLSIDE DELUXE ROOM.... I won't try and list all the prices because as usual deals can be found on booking.com and luxury escapes all the time.25km from the venue and up to an hour in traffic.
FOUR POINTS BY SHERATON - BALI
Not sure what the Four Points is all about but friends who stayed here in August gave it ten points. Rooms are available from as little as $90/night but August will be peak season so keep an eye out for special deals. 24km from the venue and up to 50 minutes in traffic.
Luxury Recommendations
The Mulia
The Mulia
The Mulia is quite simply the best international hotel we have ever stayed at. We have travelled extensively over the years and neither of us have found better (Bruce says it's even better than the Burj al Arab in Dubai). They have everything from super luxurious private villas through to beachfront suites and normal hotel rooms. It is in Nusa Dua so travel travel to places like Kuta and Seminyak can be an issue, but allowing the extra time is worth it if you want to spoil yourself.Keep an eye on the Luxury Escapes website as The Mulia often appears in their offerings at very reasonable prices.

THE CONRAD - BALI
The Conrad Bali is a Hilton Hotel but don't be put off by that. This super luxurious resort is on our hit list for one of our annual pilgrimages and it has the bonus of being walking distance from the venue. Local ex-pats rave about the high tea here (which is also on our hit list). It is of course in Nusa Dua so the extra curricular activites are limited but with facilities like they have here you never need to leave the resort grounds. Except to walk five minutes to our wedding of course!
The Conrad Bali
The Westin - Nusa Dua
The Westin Nusa Dua, like all Marriott hotels, is a premium 5 Star resort. As the name suggests it is also in Nusa Dua but it is closer to the main access freeways for the rest of the island. It has options ranging from Ocean Suites to pool terrace rooms and comes highly reccommended as a luxury option in Bali.
